By the sale of 8,000 head of cattle from the State stations in the north of Queensland to the Biboohra Meatworks, at Cairns that concern will operate for the current season. The Minister for State Enterprise said to-day that the sale made at current meat works rates, not only ensured the operation for the season of the Biboobra Works, when otherwise they would have to remain Closed but it would permit that concern to purchase cattle from small holders in the Cairns hinterland for treatment. If necessary the department could arrange to obtain from Biboohra meat for some of the State butcher shops.
